Yes, it is entirely possible that a guilty conscience has caused him to run, but have you considered that the $10,000 dead or alive bounty on his head would make him a fool if he didn't hide, no matter if he is guilty or innocent?

The police and the prosecutors heard all there was and he wasn’t charged. Now, because of the race circus, he will be charged.

What you’ve “heard” isn’t relevant, although we know that most of the inflamatory things you’ve heard have been shown to be embarrassingly false. What you demand to hear and what you proclaim the world wants to hear indicates a certain meglomania. You aren’t that important.
