You obviously don't know the volunteer in question. Roy Barnes can be a real PITA, and I'm not particularly fond of him, but nobody tells him what to do. Not even Tom Price's wife. Maybe particularly not Tom Price's wife, because Price and Barnes are at opposite ends of local politics.
Tom Price is my congressman. He's very conservative, very responsive to his constituents, and the idea that he or his wife would be involved in a conspiracy to do to death a Roswell resident over chickens - or zoning - is just completely laughable.
A much more likely scenario is that this unfortunate man refused to take Barnes's advice, which would not sit well with Barnes.
Then why didn’t the city buy him out when he offered to sell?
And who is the mystery mortgage holder that bought it at half price?
Maybe the Prices are just the usual useful idiots that bought into unbalanced crank story.
