The NYPD said the Ruger is so powerful, it could have pierced the ballistics shield carried by the first officer through Foxworth’s door. LMAO! I missed this little gem on my first read.
It's a .223. It's designed for higher muzzle velocity. Hell, any rifle caliber north of .22 would pierce a ballistics shield, and depending on how it's held, that ballistics shield would become a nasty mess if hit by enough .40 cal handgun rounds.
Modern BPVs won't stop your run-of-the-mill hunting round.
