I think the number of people with mixed Indian blood is much higher than reported. A lot of them report as white because government history towards them isn't kind.

Sometimes the Indian traits can be recessive. My aunt and two cousins are Irish and Indian despite blond hair and fairly fair skin (some as much as I am and I'm nearly full Irish). I can see some of the Indian traits (Creek I believe) in two of her siblings, although all of them are white.

There used to be an American Indian who posted here but I haven’t seen him in a few years. He once told me that the reason there are so many blond/blue Cherokee goes back to the 17 and 1800’s in Georgia.

Very large amount of intermarriage between Cherokee and Scots Irish. In fact most of them lived basically like White people.

Being an Indian has a lot of advantages. My Grandchildren and Son-in-Law qualify for free medical care since they are enrolled. They don’t need it since their parents both have health coverage from their jobs but I guess it is there if it is ever needed.
