Ron Unz (the man who spearheaded CA's anti-bilingual school instruction initiative) argues that on an age-adjusted basis, Hispanics commit crimes at about the same rate as whites. Edwin Rubenstein suggests, in this essay that Unz's assertion isn't wholly supported by the facts. I haven't had time to crawl through all the numbers, but I tend to believe Unz's assertion, mainly because the guy he got to cobble the numbers together is a right-winger and Santorum-supporter, Razib Khan, who's good friends with John Derbyshire. Criminality and low average IQ aren't necessarily correlated.
On average, blacks appear to be instinctively more likely to see the other people's (blacks or otherwise) lives and possessions much as eagles see mice scurrying across a field - targets for attack. Morality or law (which are man-made rules created to prevent a constant war of all against all) simply do not come into the picture, other than as inconvenient impediments to personal gratification. It's not just violent crimes at which blacks are overrepresented - they also commit roughly 50% of the white collar crimes despite being 12% of the population. This built-in sociopathy (again this is on average - not all blacks are sociopaths, but more blacks are likely to be sociopathic than other races) is also why blacks are statistically overrepresented among the ranks of serial killers.
It stands to reason. Non-black Hispanics are basically Native Americans from south of the border with different degrees of European blood. Native Americans simply aren't big time offenders - their social pathologies tend to be turned inward.
Thanks for your reply. That’s really a hidden stat about the serial killers, nobody knows that, everybody thinks serial killers are almost always white males.
There is a very high tolerance for criminal behavior among blacks. Not only do they make up a wildly disproportionate amount of the criminals, they are also over-represented among victims. And of course, the vast, vast, vast majority of black crime victims are victimized by other blacks.
One thing I’ve noticed about black people (well, I suppose I’m dating myself here, I even remember life before ATM machines!) is that even very ordinary folks would have unlisted phone numbers, back in the day when you had to pay extra for that.
I never asked any black person why this was true, but my guess was they were avoiding their no-good relatives.
