Black Americans along with other minorities feel they have to give more than what is required as well for racial harmony. So, it isn't just the "gutless", as you call them, who are paying the ransom. Everyone is paying a ransom.

You don't think there are white people out there with the same attitude. I had a coworker once, who was African American. He's an ex-football player and tough as nails. He's told me of times he's had to stand up to white guys in a fight. But even he admits, there are some white guys he would not mess with. Not because of how tough these white guys were, but rather, how criminally mean they were.
