That is what Michelle Malkin said on Fox yesterday.
Yeah, picking a fight with a co-equal branch of government that possesses and wields real federal power is always a winning strategy.
Spin!
So now Republicans are going to tell us that the Supreme Count is a wonderful branch of government that must be respected at all cost.
Even though the Supreme Court has taken away prayer, murdered 60 million unborn, and legalized sodomy.
Sorry, that’s not going to get me to vote for Mitt.
Great idea...fight with a branch of the government who are appointed for life. WADDAPUTZ!!
I apologize for leaving about 15 more off the list
This is a rather problematic strategy, but if he wants to make this his fight, then by all means, let him give it a shot....
The tenure and authority of the Chief Justice transcends that of ANY President, and particularly one who has challenged the Supreme Court directly.
The history of FDR, the National Recovery Act, and the Supreme Court under Chief Justice Charles E. Hughes should provide a cautionary tale for the indolent, insolent Obama regime.
But of course, that probably does not mean a thing to the Current Occupant.
Only the die hards will vote for Obama, thank goodness some of his past voters have woken up.
His most powerful ‘base’ will be voter fraud in November.
He can do it. It’d be dumb, but he could do it. By and large most Americans want the Constitution to work and they know the Supreme Court must be able to strike down even popular legislation if it is unconstitutional. It is it’s most important function.
As for those that want Obama to be able to overturn the court, anyone that far gone is going to be an Obama voter anyhow, so this is not going to be an issue that gets him more votes.
What the issue does do, however, and this is something that might really blow up in the collective Liberal face, is increase the level of unease and alarm experienced by moderate professional Democrats who are content to consider themselves moderately progressive, but who consider themselves patriotic, go to church, run businesses, etc.
These are the people who are smart enough to understand that there is more at issue than just the healthcare question, and that Obama is taking liberties with his position as President by interjecting himself in improper areas or by ignoring Constitutionally allowed limitations.
The Supreme Court controversy would give Conservatives and Republicans a perfect opportunity to court away the same group of people that Reagan captured to wrest the Presidency away from Carter — but that’s assuming the Conservatives have a candidate they could support the way they supported Reagan.
All indications from every non Fox outlet is that Obama care is getting tossed!
:)
Sadly,I've gotta point out that you're in error here. The overwhelming majority of those who get any kind of a government check will vote for Osama.Of course that excludes many uniformed members of the Armed Forces...the ones that can get their absentee ballots counted, that is.
Sadly enough True Conservatives will not vote - that Obama will win.
And I would agree. The extreme leftist hag faction (Sotomayor, Ginsburg, & Kagan) is clearly overrepresented.
But thankfully that won't be possible now that voter ID is the law of the land.
Preach on, sister. Anybody who thinks the Mittarded one is going to pack the Supremes with Originalists is sipping the GOPe koolaid.
I wonder if that falls under the old "all that's necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing".
