I thought the man named “John” saw a fight in progess, then left the scene. And by the time he got to a window, the shooting had taken place. Am I wrong?

The fellow in this audio interview says he was watching from his window when the shot was fired.

Maybe. All I know is he’s the one who saw Zimmerman down on the ground and Martin on top of him. I also know that Zimmerman told the police that “no one” would help him - which leads me to believe there were, indeed, witnesses.
