Yeah, ‘spade’ was NYC slang in my youth ... like ‘wop’ and ‘guinea’ and ‘kike’ and ‘chink’ and ‘spic’.
Just heard the “enhanced” audio via Rush. The reporters are saying the word is “cold” and it certainly sounds like it. You can hear the “l” very clearly. Hopes this ends it but I doubt it.
