I was hoping this was all a bad dream but this morning, I woke up realizing that Mitt Romney will be the nominee and no amount of heavy drinking between now and November will change that.
So what am I going to do when I go to the voting booth in November and see only Romney and Obama on the ballot for president? Do I have the option of having a sharp needle poked in my eye?
You have to see if Romney shifts further leftwards after winning the nomination and who he picks for VP. That will tell us if the Etch-a-sketch moment was actually the truth accidently slipping out or not.
Maybe Romney will surprise us and not be a bad President. I doubt it very much, but now that he is almost certainly the nominee, it is our only hope for the next four years.
By the way, I actually did have a bad dream last night after Romney won WI. I dreamed he picked a liberal for Vice President and all the establishment GOP types were preaching to us how we needed to “get behind” him. Why couldn’t I just be running from a maniac with a chainsaw like in most nightmares?
