“How does one rob a home??”

I think that the distinction may be that if someone breaks into a home that is not occupied at the time then it is considered a “burglary”. If the home is occupied at the time then it automatically becomes a “robbery”.

At common law, a “burglary” must happen at night.

Well... I guess we are both half correct. Fl. Has a home invasion robbery charge and a burglary of occupied dwelling charge. The former involves a forceful taking.
