If, and I mean IF, Zero was be tossed as an ineligible POTUS I believe Hillary is next in line. So why not keep your enemies close and demand the SoS job? At some later point maybe a leak happens, maybe those leaks have already happened but of course they never see the light of day or your a conspiracy nut.

The Vice Presidency is constitutionally a separate office, voted on by the electoral college separately from the Presidency. They only appear connected by political usage and traditional. Remember political parties have NO constitutional standing. They are private organizations not governmental, again they appear to quasigovernment because of traditional and usage.
Presidential secession is: VP, Speaker of the House, President Pro Temp of Senate then Secretary of State
