Doesn’t our military use “ball” rounds instead of hollow point rounts?
Yes, primarily NATO 5.56mm ball ammo, including the M193 cartridge, for use against personnel and unarmored targets; the M855 for use against personnel and light armored targets; and M856 tracers.
My understanding is that expanding point ammunition is used primarily (but not exclusively) in counterterrorist operations.
Yea, I recall something about a Geneva Convention rules of war. I guess that only applies to terrorists and our enemies...
It must be perfectly alright for our government to blow American citizens apart with exploding ammunition...
Under the Geneva Convention the military is required to use ‘Humane” Full Metal Jacket ammunition. Interesting that someone suggested this ammunition was for training. Sorry, this ammunition is intended to be a people stopper. Our military gets stuck with 9mm, and DHS is given the much more potent .40 SW with expandable ammunition. As Alice said, curiouser and curiouser!
