A Wisconsin man, who along with his three friends is suspected of illegally slaughtering as many as 100 deer in what prosecutors call an unprecedented "thrill-kill" spree, faces up to six months in jail.
Nathan Blaha, 20, of Hillsboro, Wis., and his accomplices allegedly wandered the backroads of Richland County in a pickup truck, stunning deer with a light before shooting them and leaving their carcasses to rot in what he called a contest to get the most deer, according to court documents.

The only thing I had to go on was what you posted!!
I stand by what I said. Deer are a very valuable resource IF managed properly, and mass poisoning is NOT proper management; it is foolhardy, kneejerk mismanagement!

You haven’t read all of my posts here where I advocated killing does to reduce reproduction rates of over populated deer herds, have you? I am primarily a meat hunter (and fisherman too), although a ten point buck or a 12 lb bass would be great. You did make one correct statement, but it was based on an ignorant assumption on your part. You said I only hunted for the “head gear”, and that is true but ONLY because bucks with certain restrictions, eg 6” spikes, or fork horns or 3 points on at least one side, etc, were authorized to be killed. ANYTHING else was prohibited and subject to a hefty fine! Given a choice, I much prefer a nice fat, tender doe for table fare over a smelly, hormone infused, rutting buck that is older and tougher!

I hate it when someone wastes sausage.
OK Granny, I understand. I hate coons, possums, feral cats and coyotes, but especially coons! They are brazen, dangerous and very destructive. Unfortunately, I can’t shoot any of those inside city limits. Mostly I trap them and haul them off, far off so they don’t come back, but that also is against the law here. My neighbors don’t complain at all because they’re fed up too!

Who is whining?
I'm pointing out that killing a hundred deer is just a tiny start.
If I'm doing any 'whining' it's about those who think the only justifiable shooting of a deer is to eat it. It isn't.
BTW your rant about 'doing away with myself' shows even you, at some level, realize you've lost the rational side af the argument are a forced to fall back on emotion.
Coons are also a big carrier of rabies...several years back our county had a notice of large numbers of rabies mostly coon, but one horse and one cow also ended up with rabies...I never thought of those two types of animals getting rabies, but they had to pick it up from some animal they came in contact with..

If there is anyone I despise is someone who makes up a fake “strawman” argument, then tries to draw conclusions from it. I did NOT say that the only reason for shooting deer was to eat it. There are others (that you failed to mention BTW) such as mercy killing of those severely injured in road collisions, eliminating those having CWD symptoms and other deadly diseases and killing those terminally disabled from rutting bouts, predator attacks and the like.
It’s rich that you haven’t made a logical argument the entire time you’ve been commenting on this thread, yet you try to label me with that! I believe the psychologists call that sneaky little gambit “projection”, that has been continually practised by leftists nowadays!

The argument I’m making is evident to all but the most ill informed.
To help you out;
We have too many deer, and it’s time to start killing them in mass numbers.
Well, I say you aren’t “helping anyone out” when you advocate large scale culling of deer herds only to abandon all that valuable meat that many of your neighbors could use for good cause, especially with the price of meat nowadays. That smacks of the 1800s buffalo slaughters! At least those guys used the hides (and sometimes tongues and other parts), but you don’t even want to do that! You ought to be ashamed of yourself!! SHEEESH

I agree with you...culling deer herds without appropriate purpose is disgusting...white trash seem to enjoy it immensely. Where else do you get the thrill of spotlighting and otherwise running the herds into a trap so that they can be simply mowed down? Given the average IQ of the people who do this (and I know some of them), I'm always somewhat surprised that they manage to outsmart the deer.
Above, I posted the link to the Iowa program where hunters can apply for extra tags to “donate” deer....the venison is processed for distribution to food pantries. Over 6300 were donated last year. The hunters get an extended season, the lockers are paid a flat fee to grind the meat for distribution, and the protein goes to those who need it.
And, for the record, I've had my share of run-ins with deer (I'm in one of the States with the highest deer populations). I also however, grew up on a large farm, with a Father who taught me to hunt, and a Grandfather who was a young adult during the Depression. Anyone who would slaughter animals indiscriminately, and then leave the “food” to rot on the ground is despicable.
Your reading comprehension is sorely lacking.
I was helping you out, as it’s clear from your posts that you need it.

That’s an old loser gambit; when all else fails, attack the messenger! My reading comprehension is just fine, thank you, and I certainly don’t “need” your type of “help” for anything, quite the opposite! Adios...

Thank you very much for the support on this thread. I was surprised and appalled at the unexpected level of idiocy that popped up here...unbelievable!
