It’s benn “all about race now” for as long as I’ve been alive. I’ll be 45 this year and I’m damn fed up with it.
“He’s the genius who feared Guam might capsize if we put too many military people on the island.”

You are,of course,making this up.

He always does and one of the reasons he is so disliked.
Then tell me that the military man being question doesn't deserve a medal for holding his laughter. I know that I couldn't have kept a straight face.
Buchanan’s piece is the only one I’ve seen with the courasge to tell it like it is. And why is it that way? Well it all began with LBJ and the Great Society which had as it’s goal the acquisition of votes through dependence. What they didn’t forsee but should have was the destruction of the urban family and the the creation of a new family, gangsta’s.
This is an opportunity for sober and brave leaders, if we had any, to bring to the fore the pressing issue of black youth criminality, and finally defeat the apologists, the race hustlers and the promoters of victimization. 50 years of this with things only getting worse is enough!
It will be an opportunity lost. There are no leaders or politicians with what it takes to do that. Except maybe Bill Cosby.
Ah, but they did see it.
Specifically, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, then an Ass't Sec'y of Labor, saw it...and spelled it out.
From Wikipedia:
Moynihan issued his research under the title The Negro Family: The Case For National Action, now commonly known as The Moynihan Report. Moynihan's report[3] fueled a debate over the proper course for government to take with regard to the economic underclass, especially blacks. Critics on the left attacked it as "blaming the victim",[4] a slogan coined by psychologist William Ryan.[5] Some suggested that Moynihan was propagating the views of racists[6] because much of the press coverage of the report focused on the discussion of children being born out of wedlock. Despite Moynihan's warnings, the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) program included rules for payments only if the "Man [was] out of the house." (See Man out of the house (welfare rule).) Critics said that the nation was paying poor women to throw their husbands out of the house.
The Johnson Administration ignored The Moynihan Report.
Oh. My. God.
Absolutely unbelievable.
I wonder if he realizes Martha’s Vineyard might sink when Dumbo is on the island playing golf. It’s smaller than Guam.
And you’re right about the military guy——I don’t know how he kept a straight face. That’s discipline I guess.
“Comments?”
Mr. Buchanan is exactly right, again.
His most cutting observation:
“...it is about an irreconcilable conflict of visions about what the real America is in the year 2012.”
The “visions” are 180 degrees apart, and unbridgeable, now and forever. Fifty years of “fighting racism” has not only not improved the situation, but made it progressively worse.
What does this portend for the future?
If the hood was up the guy might not have known the kid was Black.
Either way we don’t need nuts running around playing police man. Whether it was legitmate self defense or not, Zimmerman started it by stalking the kid cause he thought he was “acting shifty”.
It’s a shame to see all this racial nonsense dredged up.
If you think Zimmerman was stalking Martin or a “nut” running around playing “police-man”, you are either singularly ill-informed or have an unpleasant agenda. One of the two.
Summer and Fall are merely an emphasis to the coming tide of discontent by no other than-—you guessed it-—The Unions. The crawlers will be emboldened.
I disagree.
Ever.
Translated: If a cabdriver is going to be mugged or murdered in New York City by a fare, 49 times out of 50 his assailant or killer will be black or Hispanic.
Fernando Mateo of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers has told his drivers, “Profile your passengers” for your own protection. “The God’s honest truth is that 99 percent of the people that are robbing, stealing, killing these guys are blacks and Hispanics.”
