You do realize you were addressing the candidate herself, don’t you?

I do now. ;-) Yes, I figured that out.

But my position remains the same. One of the main goals of liberalism is to obliterate the distinctions between male and female. Women should have very limited roles in the military, and I stick by that. I find it puzzling when conservatives seem to support the feminist liberal view of women when it suits them.

Too funny...on another thread, kristinn was being dressed down by a freeper for posting something “non-news” in the News section...

As for the substance of his unfortunate post, as a conservative, I can disagree with the concept of women in combat in general (as it has nothing whatsoever to do with respect) but can at the same time admire and respect a woman who has done it operating under whatever rules are in place that allowed it.

Acknowledging and appreciating that someone has excelled at something doesn’t mean I cannot disagree with an overarching concept. But let’s not make this thread about women in combat. In this case, I hope her actual combat experience has given her tools to engage in political combat with people in this country in government who do not have our best interests at heart.

That said, I wish the candidate all possible success, and will be watching the campaign from afar, and contributing as well. Freepers who run for office generally have my support, and Freepers who write books have a leg up in getting me to read their offerings!
