An official with an Alabama nightclub says he wants a local rapper to change the name of a "Food Stamp Friday" promotion.
Richard Thomas of the Rose Supper Club in Montgomery Ala. says he rented the club to the rapper, but that was the extent of the nightclub's involvement with the concert.
Thomas says his phone has been ringing nonstop since media reports about the promotion. He says the concert may still happen if the name is changed and city officials are OK with the event.
Rapper Anthony Nettles says he named the event after 1 of his songs, "Food Stamp Living." He says he printed flyers before checking with the club's owners.
A food stamp card would provide discounted entry, but could not be used to purchase alcohol.
