Newt is not saying anything different than he ever has. He would support Romney over Obama if push comes to shove. He feels with Ryan endorsing Romney before Wisconsin, it helps Romney over Santorum and Rubio also is a huge influence. But Newt will continue as he has always said. The establishment is circling the wagons and trying to shut things down quickly. Newt still plans to go to the convention.

Newt is not saying anything different than he ever has
*****************
The only thing “different” and somewhat disheartening, is that he said Romney will probably get the 1144- whereas, up til this point, he’s been saying that Romney would not.

I think this change is likely because Rick is losing steam- and might lose both Wis and Pa-—

Otherwise, I agree with you- Newt’s statement is consistent with everything he has said prior to today.

We both know that Newt said this, but Newt's campaign is over a Million dollars in debt and his big donor will likely pull the plug soon.

The moment that happens, (and probably soon) Newt will drop out and probably join Romney in order to beat Obama. Romney would be smart to pick Newt as a running mate. That kind of conservative voice on his side, would greatly ease the pain at the polls for most voters.

Exactly right, and I feel the same. Rick is still my guy but I haven't taken my eyes off the prize: DEFEATING OBAMA. I have no doubt Republicans will rally around whomever the eventual nominee is.
