Sorry, they thought Zimmerman was a white Anglo-American Republican campaign worker living in an expensive gated community with uniformed liverymen and toney garden parties.

Last thing they'd imagine was a "brown" (well, he tans, I don't) Hispano-American Democrat, living in an inexpensive theoretically gated community without enough money to hire a guard, and the top entertainment is either the community swimming pool or drinking beer in front of a TV watching a sports event.

Democrats have their prejudices and simply do not have the mental capacity to think of other possibilities.

Yep, it gins up the black vote... helps elect white liberal elites who PROMISE to fight for and 'HELP' blacks get justice sometime in...well ... the future. ( A 'future' when an angry 90% of black voters aren't needed to elect white elite dems)
