AFL-CIO exec: Conservative, right-wing policies to blame for Trayvon Martins death [VIDEO] By Michelle Fields-- The Daily Caller 12:59 AM 03/30/2012
AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Arlene Holt Baker told The Daily Caller that it is conservative, right-wing policies that are to blame for Trayvon Martins death.
Martin was a black teenager shot and killed by an Hispanic neighborhood watch volunteer. The shooting, and the police departments decision to not arrest the suspect, George Zimmerman, has caused an uproar in Florida and across the country. (RELATED: Full coverage of the Trayvon Martin shooting)
The same folks who want to kill workers rights in the work place are the same folks who want to kill voters votes and now they are literally supporting legislation that is literally killing our children.
Baker told TheDC that conservative policies, like Floridas stand your ground law which states that an individual has the right to defend himself if he feels that his life is in imminent danger are to blame.

Well, when they don’t have the economy, gas and food prices, jobs, debt and deficits, housing market, culture, foreign policy in their favor, I guess this is what they have left
Zimmerman = Latino Democrat
The AFL-CIO exec got it right! We should all agree with him on this! If it hadn’t been for conservative right-wing policies then Zimmerman would have been unarmed, Zimmerman would have had his head caved in, and Zimmerman would be dead!
Yes, 0bama's EPA is cutting the legs out from under the coal industry and the head of the AFL-CIO Richard Trumka, former President of the UMWA, want s to trash the GOP over a young black kid killed by a democrat.
What a world!
I am Zimmerman!
The two white students killed by blacks in FL awhiile back must have been caused by the socialist led AFL-CIO.
By “worker’s rights” I assume she means the ability to band together and charge more than a market rate for a product, thereby allowing manufacture of that product to move out of the United States. And, while doing this, prohibiting others willing to do the work at a market rate from doing so. I wonder when people will wake up and realize that unions achieved worthy goals long ago and that current goals, especially in the public sector, are motivated by greed and the need to collect dues for the Democratic Party. What if consumers finally woke up and realized that they are being robbed by buying many union products? And what about the unintended consequences of unions - higher minimum wages, inflation, loss of jobs, and transfer of wealth to other nations? Makes you wonder why they would align themselves with those wishing to enslave the general populace. As for me, I’m proud to oppose them and glad to consider myself a “right winger”.

I’ve been following the SEIU on twitter. It was a good two weeks before they posted a single message about labor issues. Its 99% attacks on the right for everything from gas prices to hate crimes and 1% legitimate union business.
Isn’t it strange how she got every DNC talking point into 3 or so minutes.
Until (never happen) the unions declare they will NEVER support any political party or candidate, they're dead to me.
Beware of women with three names.
Paul Ryan did it in the House Chamber with a gavel...
Just ask Jimmy Hoffa.
I agree with him, in that the right to defend one’s life and the right to keep and bear arms are fundamental to conservatism or shall we say Jeffersonian liberalism.
SEIU does not care about labor - it is about political power, purchased with forced union dues and donations from “Progressive” money-laundering operations that masquerade as “charities”.
Always a pillar of the community. In this case, I believe it's one of the pillars on the left.
Such a ridiculous non sequitur is usually ignored by Republicans and conservatives as nonsensical, and thus not worthy of any consideration at all. However, this is a mistake, because it allows agitators an opportunity to rally very stupid people in their support.
Instead, the response of Republicans and conservatives should be in surreal kind, to state that “It is the AFL-CIO which is fully to blame for Trayvon Martins death, and it is past time for the AFL-CIO to admit to its hatred of black Americans and willingness for them to be gunned down and imprisoned by their unions in the name of ‘Big Labor’ and the Democrat party.”
“Go ahead, AFL-CIO. Dispute that your ranks are filled with prison guards who profit from imprisoning young black men. This is a deep and hateful form of racism, that the AFL-CIO embraces and endorses.”
Yes, utter nonsense. But this is what such lugheads as the president of the AFL-CIO deserve when they spout nonsense in the first place.
