A few days ago, left-wing director Spike Lee, who has 248,000+ followers on Twitter, retweeted an item bearing what was supposed to be the address of George Zimmerman, the man who claims to have shot Miami teen Trayvon Martin in self defense a month ago in Sanford, Florida. But the address was incorrect and the occupants of the residence are an elderly couple who bear no relation to Zimmerman. As a result of Lee's retweet, they've received hate mail and, fearing for their safety, have fled their home.
Yet when it came her turn to report the development today, MSNBC's Chris Jansing did her level best to spin the news in such a way as to absolve Lee -- who directed some of the network's Lean Forward promo spots -- of any culpability for putting the couple in jeopardy.
MSNBC or Pravda...can’t tell the difference.
Spike accidentally endangered an innocent couple when he meant to endanger a man who should be presumed innocent unless and until a court finds otherwise. Either way, his action was phenomenally unacceptable, as was the reaction of the lunatics (no surprise there) who follow him on twitter.
You could not pay me enough to monitor MSNBC all day.
Well by God, I can!
One of them is a propaganda arm of leftest regime and will tell any lie to support the regime.
The other one is a newspaper in Russia.
The failure to remove the address was not an “error” - it was, and is, egregious bullying and persecution.
Of someone who doesn’t even have a connection with George Zimmerman, except sharing the same last name.
Probably, all honkies look the same to Spike Lee. Totally stereotypical behavior.
Has anyone charged Spike Lee with "inciting a riot" ??
yet the left want to pass laws putting people in jail for “cyber bullying” which basically consists of saying mean things to gay kids or minorities online. However this is just an error...a big oopsie?
lol
It should be noted that Spike apologised. Keep in mind, however, that he only apologised after the victims sought legal council. He also ONLY apologised for the incorrect address, not the tweeting of the address.

If the people were inconvenienced in any way, they have a very good case against Lee.
Under the heading What’s good for the goose....., been wondering if Media Matters can bring pressure to bear on Rush’s advertisers, just why would it be so bad to simply list the NBC advertisers and their most popular products. That sort of information may be useful to some people.
Spike Lee is a goof ball. If a white guy had done that, the President would have already condemned him.
More like a TWIT error!!!
Has there ever been a more justifiable basis for a lawsuit against that race-hustling spike lee?
The family at the address Lee published does not share Zimmerman’s name. The woman was formally married to a man named Zimmerman, and has a son with that last name. The son hasn’t lived in their home for a lot of years.
Twitter error is not an applicable defence because, it could have been deleted at any point, you have to read what you wrote then press a button to submit it....this was no error, it was a deliberate incitement for harm to provide an address and imply that harm should come to the person living there.
Howsoever that may be, Spike Lee was just putting on another “Do the Right Thing” or “Mo’ Better Blues”.
Xenophobic, anti-Semitic, just mired over there in some fever swamp.
Even if Spike HAD given the correct address for Zimmerman, it’s still inciting a riot in my estimation. This is far worse than the little “crosshairs” put around congressional districts as the possibility of violence is very real. Especially when you have the New Black Panther’s putting out “arrest warrants” for Zimmerman.
