I can believe that, the Beatles were amongst a special group in rock music. But there's nothing analogous in rap “music”.It doesn't require one to play an instrument at all, much less with virtuosity. It doesn't require that you sing melodiously, on-pitch, or sing at all.

It doesn't require that you sing melodiously, on-pitch, or sing at all. It also doesn't require you to spell correctly.

Have a minor in musicology. Rap has it's parallel form in the middle ages. It just uses new electric technology. (Boy were some of their lyrics racy and are just as shocking if you run across any as the lyrics are today)
Bluegrass has more similarities to Bach then to Country Western which is similar to the ballads from the troubadours. Both are placed in the Country genre.
It may shock you, but very little of the music today requires musical aptitude. Electronic and recording has eliminated talent. AN exception to that is the band my son tours with. No electronics, just pure talent. But I digress......
