Ed Schultz Idiocy: 'So What' if Trayvon Martin Broke George Zimmerman's Nose?

Exhibit A on why liberals seldom go into police work -- Ed Schultz's chat with a like-minded caller to his radio show yesterday about the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin.

To the caller, it was "cut and dry" that Zimmerman murdered Martin during their confrontation in Sanford, Fla., last month.

CALLER: Hey, what is it about the right that just can't be wrong about something? This whole Trayvon Martin deal is just driving me nuts. It's cut and dry. The guy brought a gun to the fight. The kid was just walking home. You know, a scuffle ensues because this guy pursued him and he shoots the kid. That's, that's murder ...

SCHULTZ: Well, well, here, here, here's the thing. SO WHAT IF TRAYVON MARTIN HIT HIM?

CALLER: That's exactly. So what if ...

SCHULTZ: SO WHAT IF HE, UH, BROKE HIS NOSE?

CALLER: I, I agree.

Even members of Congress are saying Zimmerman murdered Martin.

This is the meme I am hearing from the black community: So what if Trayvon Martin attacked Zimmerman first?

And they actually believe it. That beatings can be fatal, is immaterial; and self-defense is murder.

A logical extension of this line of reasoning will be, “So what if the attacker knifed the shooter in the eyeball?”

“So what if the attacker raped and killed the shooter’s wife and daughters?”

“So what if the attacker just killed 3,201 people in the neighborhood with a chain saw, and now was running at the shooter?”

As they often say, your rights end at the other guy’s nose. That’s so what.

“The kid was just walking home.”

This is what we have been told...but I have yet to see any information as to what store he actually went to, or what he actually bought, if anything....where did the Skittles story even come from?

He could have been ‘just walking home’...or he could have been doing just what Zimmerman thought he was doing. We have no way of knowing; and, I don’t know why the former option is automatically accepted.

“Even members of Congress are saying Zimmerman murdered Martin.”

Sad to say, but even some conservatives have commented stupidly way to early on this. Example, I love the Glenn Beck show, but even he has fallen for what the media tells him it seems and has called it a murder. I tuned him in the next day hoping he would back away from that statement until the facts where known, but he said it again.

“The kid was just walking home.”

Through the back yards - not on the sidewalk or the streets.

This Martin is turning out to be a real bad as@. And Zimmerman was carrying a weapon as his right and because the police can not protect the neighborhood since he was acting as a neighborhood watch. If Martin had left the area peacefully since he did not belong there and did not attack Zimmerman he would be home alive now. Concerned citizens are the best prevented action since police are basically investigators. Not good enough. First responders are always the citizens and if they had the tools, crime would go down.

Zimmerman was twice arrested for violence. If he had ended up dead would it also have been one less violent thug on the street?

And as far as the law goes, that Zimmerman was losing the fight is not at issue - just who initiated the fight.

Can a armed man chase someone down, accost them on the street, provoke a fight, then when losing the fight gun the person down, then make a case that he was “standing my ground”? That is the legal issue - IF in fact Zimmerman initiated the fight. Not if he got his nose broken during the fight.

nothing bugs me more than a conservative that always has to go out of their way to support some liberal cause to prove they are impartial.

I expect to see a number of cities burn this summer. I expect many more if “The Won” loses in Nov.

I've attempted to make the same point on earlier threads regarding this. I hope you're wearing flame retardant clothing. There are people on both sides that have rushed to judgement in this case. My only hope is that the truth will out.

This is what I have been asking. Let's find the 7-11 (or whatever they change the name to at the moment) and get the video tape of this upstanding young man making his purchase. Oh wait that would be a job for a real journalist

I have some news for you, asking someone a question like “Excuse me but what is your business in this area” is not initiating a fight. You do not have the right to hit or physically attack and verbally threaten ANYONEe because you been “disrespected” by da man, and if you do jump someone you might get knifed or shot.
You choose the risk. How about the lil punk just saying “im hear with my dad” and then walking away?

Fair enough points, but I wonder if it’s even possible for Zimmerman to get a fair trial anywhere in this country, now.

YOu have evidence Zimmerman CHASED and ACCOSTED Martin as the poster you’re agreeing with is asserting?

Would be a pretty piss poor country to live in if we were only permitted to be “where we belonged.” Should everyone carry guns and run off anyone they decide doesn’t belong where they are?
