Conservative Frontrunner Santorum Wins Majority against Romney (if Gingrich steps aside)!

Popular, young and strong on Values, dynamic Senator Rick Santorum wins, with a large, absolute Majority of Votes, against the Unpopular, old and flip-flop Millionaire Mitt Romney, if Gingrich (who has lost in too many States), at last, steps aside, recent Polls reveal :

For example, the Front Runner among Conservatives, Santorum, could crush Romney, with 55 % against only 33 % respectively, if Gingrich stepped aside, i.e. with a Winning margin up to + 21%, according to the latest Luisiana Polls by Magelan Strategies BR, of the 19 of March. Oherwise, (i.e. if Gingrich insists to Divide the Conservatives), Santorum again Wins against Romney there, but with a margin of 13% (37 % - 24%).

Nationwide, Conservatives Santorum and Gingrich already have 1 Million Votes more than Romney (with about 5 Millions against only 4, respectively), added to more than 1 Million also of Paul's.

More than 61 % of Gingrich Voters, when he steps down, prefer to vote for Santorum, while only 22 % would go to Romney, reveal f.ex. the same Polls.

Until now :

+ Santorum Won in 10 (Ten) States, while Gingrich only in 2 (two).

+ Santorum has got 246 Delegates, compared to only 141 for Gingrich.

+ Santorum has won about + 600.000 more Votes than Gingrich.

>>> With Santorum US President, Gingrich could become a good Vice-President, or State Secretary, etc.

=> United together, the Conservatives, (who already are a Majority in Votes : See above), could OBVIOUSLY also WIN the GOP 2012 Presidential Nomination, crushing Romney easily.

On the contrary, if Gingrich insists to Divide the Conservatives, he would be alone to bear the grave Responsibility, if, eventually, a MINORITY candidate, as Romney, might, perhaps, usurpate, at the end, a nomination that he obviously does not deserve, contrary to elementary Democratic Principles.

The fact is (look at Louisiana after Gingrich was clearly not a contender for the nomination anymore after his losses in Mississippi and Alabama) that as a sole conservative candidate Santorum can beat Romney. My own thought is a Santorum/Gingrich ticket at a brokered convention. If the GOP supports Romney their doomed because in the primaries he has only been winning the states that are going to vote for Obama anyway. What is key is who can win the swing states? Romney won't; Santorum might (see this link: http://widget.newsinc.com/_cfvp/playlist16x9_player.html?CID=9387&WID=9073&VID=23599889&freewheel=90062&sitesection=rasmussen_sty).

Thought you might find this interesting. Although it is late in the game, it is encouraging to see that the majority in the primaries want a conservative candidate. Paul, Santorum, Gingrich have more than a million more votes than Romney so far in the primaries. Those who are behind Paul and Gingrich are very unlikely to vote for Romney (the poll above seems to indicate that if Gingrich dropped out, his supporters would be divided with 3 out of 5 to Santorum, 1 out of 5 to Romney, and the other 1 out of 5 watching on the fence). This thing is far from over...

If the GOP supports Romney their doomed because in the primaries he has only been winning the states that are going to vote for Obama anyway.

Then again, we can't win the general election if the only states we win are the traditional red states. We need a few purple states to obtain the necessary electoral votes as we saw in 2008. flame away.

Agreed. But I think that is a key for the GOP not going with Romney. He won’t take the purple states.

Newt Gingrich isn’t getting out of this election, period. So you just dream on.

I’m not voting for Santorum because he is a pathological liar who has supported abortion in the past and has lied to you and others about his stance. There is a very good reason the folks in Pennsylvania voted his out of office - he is a hypocrite!

As for Romney - he is a Republican pretender, and a liberal Democrat in reality.

This isn’t over until the balloon drop at the end of the convention in August.

Not dreaming. Just putting this out there for discussion. At any rate, it is clear that Gingrich cannot get the 1144 delegates and that should already influence the rest of the primaries.

Saying that Santorum supported abortion seems a bit extreme - Republican, Catholic, father of 7 children. Do you have some actual proof on this?

Currently, they all lose to Obama in the major purple states i.e. Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Romney seems to be generally losing by less Ohio being the only exception. None of this is terribly encouraging.

Prolife Politics or Postulate?
http://www.politijim.com/2012/03/prolife-politics-or-postulate.html

I know about Gingrich and Romney. Until two months ago I knew little about Rick Santorum. Now I know enough to distrust him thoroughly.

Jimmy Carter, too, was a fine Christian and social conservative, married to the same woman for decades with three children. As President he was a disaster - you need to look deeper into Santorum’s political past before thinking he would make a good conservative President - because he has never been politically a consistent conservative.

The polls, at any rate, are just that - polls. What people will actually vote is harder to say. A week ago Santorum was considered above Obama in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia and Ohio, all states in the purple. See this video:

The video at that link sadly confirms your point - from his own lips. What a mess our country finds itself in! I would have never believed it, but he shows himself (at 4 minutes on) to be just another waffling politician (personally opposed, but...) - more conservative than others, perhaps, but inconsistent. Thank you for the link, that is, as thankful as I can be for such disappointing news.

For anyone else who wants to see the video in question (go to 4 minutes and watch him waffle): http://video.foxnews.com/v/1456869706001/santorum-in-a-michigan-state-of-mind/

That's why Newt is staying in—he knows he can't win so he sold out to Mitt.

Mitt needs Newt so his people can claim to be Newt people so they can smear Santorum without getting Romney's hands dirty. If these guys would just admit they would rather have Mitt win the nomination than Santorum they wouldn't be a bunch of mean-spireted hypocrites cuz the fact is-a hit on Rick is a kiss on Mitt.

Newt came in with class and now he has become a pathetic shadow of his former self—a useful idiot of the GOP-e RINOs.

Wonder what Mitt promised him?

“...it is encouraging to see that the majority in the primaries want a conservative candidate.”

It is encouraging. What’s not encouraging, in fact it’s down right demoralizing, is that so many Republican voters want another candy-ass, never-run-anything dope like Wittle Wicky Santorum.

When I debate Santorum bashers I ask them do they prefer Mitt to Rick?
Except for one exception—a Freeper Mittbot hiding out as a Newton (there are many here) actually said she preferred Mitt to Rick, a gutsy move that showed character—they hide behind Newt's skirts and say they support Gingrich. And since it is useless to criticize Newt cuz he is finished, they get a free pass to bash Rick while Mitt Romney is just a smiling.
When they bash Rick without admitting they prefer Mitt over the last conservative who can actually win—they exposed themselves as Mittbot hypocrites.
So whenever I encounter a Rick critic who claims to be a Newt supporter I tell him I am still not supporting their Mitt Romney because A-does the attack help Newt? No. Does it help Santorum? No. Does it help Mitt? Hell Yes!!! Then I tell them that at least Santorum isn't pro-abortion, pro homosexual marriage, pro gun control, pro Big government Romney/Obamacare pro allowing minors to get abortions without the parents permission etc etc like your Mitt. Newt Gingrich "says" he is staying in to stop Romney--but his "people" are doing just the opposite. And Newt knows it--again what did Romney promise him cuz he is doing all he can to prevent his silly fantasy about an open convention to happen. Attack Rick all you want and you can keep Newt as your first choice--just stop being a two face poltroon and fess up that you prefer Mitt to Rick.

I’m not going to beat up on Gingrich but the simple fact is that now demanding that all get out of the race and conservatives do as they’re told.

I’m a Santorum guy and won’t be voting for Romney under any circumstances. I haven’t forgotten what an arrogant ass he is.

Probably time to just leave it alone and let it play out. It is too late for the non Romney’s. I doubt any miracles are going to happen.

When you do the math using the states left, Romney will get his 1144.

There are a bunch of Romney “sure win” winner take all states coming up.

Even if this would end up at the convention, the GOP-e has Romney covered.

I agree. I am concerned it won’t reach at brokered state though.

Strange you so easily are swayed by an old and regretted observation tha is constantly used by the media and some people on FR to flog this candidate

.... that in no way...from then on.... reflects his years of passionate defense of the unborn while in the Senate....

...and his many years ongoing defense still.

Just how strongly were you in his court in the first place.

Just asking....

..ps, Satin Doll has been vehemently against him from the git go.

Well how strategically do you THINK Newt Gingrich will get the nomination? huh..might it involve strategically voting for Santorum in some instances? Let’s face it a “new media” strategy at convention to convince Romney delegates to support Newt on the first ballot isn’t going to do it, and if Romney gets 1100+ it’s over. So tell me, how do you propose that Gingrich wins without at least informally allying with Santorum..

As the next person who posted states: Does that mean that you want Mitt Romney given the choice between he and Rick Santorum?

Really, I just love God, my Church, my country, and the unborn, and I definitely want a President who will defend these things. We need to end the “Obamanation”. Santorum is the only one left who fits the bill and has a remote chance. Obviously none of the candidates will ever be “perfect”.
