I walk in my neighborhood all the time. People who live there observe me. I see them observe me. I don’t run from them, no do I confront and assault them.
Funny thing about Martin's conduct. He noticed he was being observed, so he stares at Zimmerman (who is in his car/truck/SUV whatever). Then he comes closer, sticks his hand in his waistband. Stares some more. Zimmerman is relating all this over the phone to Sanford PD. Then Martin takes off running, and manages to lose Zimmerman.

To administer a beat down. He (Martin) was close to home (100, 200 yards, maybe closer), and could have just gone home, with Zimmerman none the wiser.

You wouldn't understand. It's a "savage" thing. Martin felt dissed or something, and was going to show the little prick who was king of the 'hood.
YES....a “normal” person would answer a question truthfully.....and be on with it...

Maybe he was creeped-out by the guy who was following him?
We only have Zimmerman's word that Martin returned to confront and attack him.
Why did the police originally recommend manslaughter charges be brought against Zimmerman ... which the DA failed to do?
from what I understand, at 7:12 he called his girlfriend and mentioned to her someone was following him. She advised him to run and he said he wasn’t going to run, but was going to walk fast. Before the call was diconnected she heard him say “why are you following me”.
Other than Zimmerman’s initial story, there is no evidence to say he “returned to confront Zimmerman”. And as far as attacking Zimmerman, he may have thought he was defending himself or perhaps Zimmerman chased him and tried to accost him and he was defending himself. I don’t buy the story that he jumped Zimmerman after Zimmerman got back in his car and then left and stopped to get out and look at a street sign. The call to the girlfriend was at 7:12. The police were there at 7:17. It just doesn’t add up. Zimmerman is most likely lying to police.
And from the photos released, it doesn’t look like Zimmerman was all that scuffed up when taken to the police station.
