Hep B vaccination is a preventative measure, so that part doesn’t sound right to me. My new grand-baby got hep B vaccine at birth and will complete the series at specific intervals.
These vaccines really bother me. When I ask for info from the doctors/nurses on the vaccine, they just basically tell me that the risk is low and that the vaccines are good. When I ask if they are really necessary and what is the likelihood that they will “need” the vaccine, I don’t get any real answers. However, when you look for info from other sources, you get extreme views on the other side of the debate. All I want to do is determine what really makes sense for my family and not give unnecessary vaccines, nor neglect to get the ones that really do make sense.... It’s all very frustrating.
Funny, Giving Hep B vaccines to newborns doesn’t sound right to me. Was there any reason to give your grand son Hep B vaccine? Does your daughter/daughter in law have Hep B? If not, does it not seem like a bad idea to give a newborn multiple vaccinations for a disease they have almost no chance of being exposed to? You do realize that it is transmitted via blood/semen and most newborns through at least 10 years of age SHOULD NOT be coming into contact with those things or doing IV drugs.
Bottom line, if mom doesn’t have it, babies don’t need it.
