Angry over steps being taken due to a financial emergency in Detroit, New Black Panther Party leader Malik Shabazz declared he would burn the city down.
"This is white on black crime," he said during public comment at the two hour meeting held Monday afternoon.
"This is white supremacy. Before you can take over our city, we will burn it down," he added.
A post at Twitchy.com highlights some of the messages sparked by Shabazz's threat:
"For Detroit that probably qualifies as Urban Renewal," wrote one person.
"What? Theres nothing left to burn," wrote another.
Last December, talk show host Rush Limbaugh offered his advice for fixing Detroit: "Get rid of every liberal in government."

THE DRAFT SYNDER MOVEMENT HAS STARTED. If he can piss off the Black Pantyhers to such an extent, he might be just what America needs.

So they want to complete the job they started on 1968
Hey Schnizzle-bitz, aint you supposed to be looking for somebody?
I have mixed feeling for the guy, he doesn't want to burn down detroit as he stated, he is not a radical but he used terminology from radical '60's and now he has to account for it.
To his credit, he is a founding member of the Detroit 300 that is trying to take back the streets from the criminal element and I certainly can't fault him for that.
Unfortunately he is too entrenched in the power structure that has led to the downfall of Detroit and can not accept the fact that only an outside source recommended by Governor Snyder will be able to turn the city around.
His goals are the same but he can't accept the only logical solution..........
Detroit is actually in a lot better position than a lot of cities in the sense that there’s no way to go but up and the attitudes are slowly shifting toward a little self responsibility.
The city of Chicago for instance has a bigger debt than some nations and if the federal umbilical ever gets cut, we’ll be smelling the smoke all the way over here in central and east Michigan.
Just caught this one. Sorry, but Detroit's Malik Shabazz is not the same leader of the New Black Panther Party as this story claims............That individual is Malik Zulu Shabazz and lives in California!
No it's not, the writer of this article is 100% wrong. The Detroit Malik Shabazz is in no way the leader of the New Black Panther Party....That individual lives in California.
Amen to that! I grew up in the ‘burbs of Atlanta. I’m stuck in the land of Ovechkin now.
Most white people ironically don’t care what happens to Detroit they thought it lost years ago. He must think it plays well to his black audience to pose as a radical leader, much like those idiot Muslim clerics who incite others to violence while they remain safe. I saw in an article that Detroit was making a comeback but with only one intact house per block in some areas it seems unlikely.
Urban renewal implies a large number of guilty white liberals able to talk everyday citizens into 'chipping in' to rebuild. That's NOT going to happen.
If some Black Panther criminal burns down the city, it will stay burnt. Detroit will become the 'poster child' city of liberal ideas. That would for us - not that we want it to happen ( in spite of multitudes offing to send Shabazz matches)
bttt
I grew up outside of the city, we had our one family business there for 60 years. We up and left and never looked back, it was a sad day for our family. I’ve always had a soft spot for the city and wish it could change, but that isn’t going to happen now. I watched the deterioration my whole life, the city will never come back to anything close to what it was, not now that the entitlement mentality has gotten so entrenched there.
Welfare and unions are the two reasons that city went to the dogs.
An upstanding attorney like Mario Apuzzo would not post trash. This matter is very serious.
Have you seen this?

I would like to hear any comments you might have to offer regarding it.
I knew I should have placed an /sarcasm on that reply. Too late now.
Is this bad news or good news? I can’t tell.
BTW, heard this guy on local talk radio, he was trying to back away from these comments, got caught up at the time ect, ect.
