You’re right; we now have more players in Europe than before, and they’re learning how to really play - now we just need more of them.
Do you know where most of them are playing? If it’s places like England and Germany, I don’t think that’s going to help us much; it’s too linear a style of play, too similar to what the U.S. does. I want more of our guys playing in Brazil and Argentina and learning the “beautiful game” with all its intricate passing and lateral movement.
Even if the U.S. doesn’t adopt that style of play, we should at least be more familiar with it and thus better able to defend against it.
