Over at this thread, it comes out that school officials suspended him in October for graffitiing a locker. When the searched his bag, they found "Trayvon’s backpack contained 12 pieces of jewelry, in addition to a watch and a large flathead screwdriver, according to the report, which described the screwdriver as a burglary tool".

It's looking more and more like Zimmerman was correct when he suspected Trayvon was casing the area for burglary.
