They did. They took the photo on the left and doctored it and then released the photo on the right.

I think all that was done was they raised the gamma till the image was much lighter, and less sinister looking.

I downloaded the first image and used Irfanview to raise the gamma a lot and it looks identical to the second image then.

The pic on the left looks shopped also. Where is the kid’s shoulder on the right side of the first pic? And why is that white horizontal bar on the right side of the 2nd pic but not in the first one?
