Let's see. There's...

1) Shock/denial
2) Pain/guilt
3) Anger/bargaining
4) Depression/loneliness
5) The upward turn
6) Reconstruction/working through
7) Acceptance/hope

Now we have to add an eighth stage:
8) Cashing in.

Martin Luther King's family did something very similar to this. It gave them two things ~ (1) control of his name and (2) money.

When you're dead money still counts.

I think that #8 Cashing In, leapfrogged all the way to the 1st stage. Generational welfare, nanny-state socialists, entitlement mentality, black african-americans. Need we say anymore!
