BINGO! Seems most of the perps’ families come up with that common meme: “but he was such a GOOD boy”, when in fact they had no idea what all types of criminal acts he was involved in. If either of my sons had been suspended, I would have been all over his a$$ like a pullet on a June bug, with severe repercussions and intrusions in their personal live and friends/parents they associated with. I would have also turned them in for burglaries and such, in order to nip in the bud a potential life of crime.

I still remember very well my father taking me to the first day of a new school and telling my teacher he expected her to beat my butt if I didn’t do that she said, AND to send a note home with me so he could beat my butt AGAIN! That was 60 years ago...

I couldn’t believe the Dad going off at the school for mentioning the jewelry and ‘burglary tool’ in Trayvon’s backpack. Rather than accuse the school of “smearing” his son, he should have come at them w both guns blazing for ignoring what sure looks like breaking, entering and theft. He should have demanded to know why he wasn’t notified at the time.

Some of that jewelry had diamonds on it. The school officials bought Trayvon’s transparently stupid excuse (it’s not mine; I’m keeping it for someone) and just let it go??? No wonder the poor kid went wrong. Nobody in his life was disciplining him w any rhyme or reason. Ten days’ suspension for graffiti, but nothing for serious burglary. That sends a ludicrously bad signal—and the parents weren’t helping.

I grew up the same way, cracker. Amazing how the standard is lowered for kids these days. Course when you look at parents of these kids it’s understandable.
