That could be true, I'm personally making the decision to hold off posting my opinions on this case until the dust settles and the actual facts come out. I have no idea what really happened and don't want to end up with egg on my face for forming an opinion based on dive-by journalism at its best.

Only wanted to clear up if it was a law or policy that watch group participants were unarmed.

I’m not on the board right now but I’d bet my bottom dollar that if our HOA liability insurance company knew our crime watch volunteer was armed, our premium would go up or they would demand the volunteer not carry while performing duties as a volunteer. Our premiums at the HOA are high enogh as it is without having to cover a volunteer walking around armed.
