The attorney counseling George Zimmerman, who shot unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin as he was walking home from the store with a bag of Skittles, says if charges are filed, Zimmerman will argue that he acted in self-defense and that Florida's stand-your-ground law applies.
Attorney Craig Sonner said the public is only hearing part of the story, and when all the facts come out, it will be clear that Zimmerman acted in self defense. A grand jury is scheduled to begin hearing the case April 10.
"George Zimmerman suffered a broken nose, and had an injury to the back of his head, he was attacked by Trayvon Martin on that evening," Sonner said. "This was a case of self defense."
When asked why Zimmerman...

That Police report backs up Zimmermans telling of the story.
“George Zimmerman, who shot unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin as he was walking home from the store with a bag of Skittles,”
What does the “bag of Skittles” have to do with anything? Now the Tea, if a glass bottle or can might be important to mention as a possible weapon, but a bag of Skittles?
The only reasons to mention it are to paint pictures of a helpless little kid, just coming home from the store with his little candies, I mean just a baby really, being shot to death by a racist stalker, out for blood.
Thanks hb
Isn’t that the truth. The pictures of him are only missing a halo and wings. I’m surprised they haven’t been photoshopped in.
There’s another thread going posted by Nachum. If you haven’t been on it you might find it interesting. There’s a whole other side of this kid emerging.

This is the PC paper and electronic media we're talking about here.
If you know what that means no explanation is necessary.
If you're still confused, perplexed and bewildered, no explanation is possible.
“In before the Evil Zimmerman gunned down an innocent child idiots...”

I think for the most part they’re off playing video games down in their mommies’ basements where they live. I think that this case frightens them as they fear that they too may encounter a neighborhood watch volunteer as they go to and from their skittle buying missions.
They are irritating little buggers, aren’t they?
Known by you, perhaps.
Welcome, newbie, but gawd, newbies sure love to hear themselves talk and dazzle us with their legalese.
Me?
I'm waiting for the official report to emerge. I am sure it will not include inferences, nor events reported as facts that were unwitnessed by anyone offering free legal opinions and advice.
9-1-1 call:
immerman:
Yeah. You go in straight through the entrance and then you would go left. You go straight in, dont turn and make a left.
Hes running. [2:08]
911 dispatcher:
Hes running? Which way is he running?
Zimmerman:
Down toward the other entrance of the neighborhood. [2:14]
911 dispatcher:
OK, which entrance is that hes headed towards?
Zimmerman:
The back entrance.
[It sounds like Zimmerman says under his breath, F-ing coons at 2:22]
NOTE:
911 dispatcher:
Are you following him? [2:24]
Zimmerman:
Yeah. [2:25]
911 dispatcher:
OK.
We dont need you to do that. [2:26]

Ergo: Martin was running away, and despite the dispatchers instructions Zimmerman gave chase. Lacking any legal right to do so, Zimmerman’s chasing Martin could be charged as assault, forcible detainer, or attempted kidnapping
yes of course I’m a commie for not making a saint out of the guy who’s become a poster child for every gun-grabber in America. He was an irresponsible idiot who broke the unwritten rules of carrying concealed and we’re going to suffer for it.
But you go right ahead name-calling anyone who doesn’t think a man who gunned down an unarmed kid is a saint.
AT BEST he made a mistake putting himself in a situation he couldn’t handle/wasn’t trained for and as a result somebody ended up dead
You are making the same point that was being made, pretty much by everybody, on the McLaughlin group this morning. That is Martin may well have been “standing his ground” against Zimmerman.
Oh my. That was the first time I heard the tape. That was definitely a horrible racist slur. The CNN audio expert tape is very clear.
Who knows what really happened. But zimmerman is for sure a racist.
“You cant gain the legal right to kill someone in self defense if you are the one who starts the violence”
What evidence do you have that Zimmerman started any violence? Be specific please, and provide your source.

Try this, it came from his own brother on Facebook 5 days before he was shot for ambushing and beating Zimmerman:

You have no idea what you're ta....
No, you know what?
Just l..o..l..
Yeah, an image search on Zimmerman turns up lots of mugshot versions, with a variety of skin tones. interesting, since the base pic is the same.
This is looking just like the workup to the ‘92 LA riots.
“bag of Skittles” has become a tagline, a code if you will. It now means a volume of stuff, from information to disinformation.
It’s an advertising technique, in this case someone just has to mention or shout “bag of Skittles” and the recipients all respond in a set way.
Yep!
re: he was running away
Was he shot in the back or chest?
Police are trained to put down only observations, not inferences. If the officer was not medically trained and did not personally conduct a medical exam of Zimmerman, then he would not infer whether the nose was broken.
