This is not an acceptable trend. I’ll remain optimistic that the rapport will improve, and there will be a mutual effort to make it so.
If it’s not acceptable, what’s to be done about it?
Shall we look to the principles of the civil society, or should we create new laws and bureaucracies to enforce “fairness”?
How do you propose to create harmony among people? Do you think it will spontaneously spring up out of the goodness of our collective hearts? If so, that would seem to be a vote for the re-creation of the so-called civil society. Moving down a metaphysical notch, such cooperation might also or alternatively occur from the expression of mutual interests, eg; A is looking for work to earn money, B is looking for labor to get a job done, B hires A, and both meet some of their needs thereby. A is grateful for the existence of B, without whom A would be unemployed.
I definitely believe that pure racial animus is being stoked with this Zimmerman incident. This is pure revenge and hatred and retribution. It’s the politics of envy. And I believe that the conditions that might foster and encourage entrepreneurial activity that might give rise to mutual-interest type cooperation are being crushed. Flooded by racial hatred, fewer and fewer potential employees can see this or are willing to consider this. Fewer and fewer employers are willing to take on the vulnerability of an employee pool that’s only out for their next paycheck and resents the hell out the employer.
I don’t believe that pure faith in the goodness of man will foster the improvement of those who find themselves disadvantaged. Not as quickly as predation among those disadvantaged will increase the ranks of the malevolent. And every experience shows that such predation hurts the disadvantaged much worse than the advantaged. The predators work on their own kind before they venture out looking for more distant victims. That’s just my opinion. I’m a believer in a system of mutual benefit. And by the way, the transfer of earned or unearned wealth from whites who wish to absolve themselves of some piece of guilt imposed upon them over all the oppression championed by the likes of Jesse and Al don’t cut the mustard, either. That just kicks the situation down the road, and it’s exactly what has produced the frighteningly large percentage of the population that is all take and no give.
