Handcuffed and taken in for questioning certainly meeets the common-sense definition of arrest.Let a citizen hancuff someone and take them forcibly to another location for interviewing and the SWHTF ! Handcuffs make a mockery out of any claim Zimmerman was not arrested.

I’d say Zimmerman was arrested and then released with no charges filed at this time.

Well, the problem is that he was “detained” not “arrested.” Bu thte repetition of the fact that he was not arrested gives an impression to the casual reader (most people) that he was just sent home.

Most people would think that is they put you in handcuffs and take you downtown (as was the correct thing to do with Zimmerman that night) you’ve been “arrested.”
