You are quite welcome...I suspect that is precisely what is going through his mind at that point.
You are right about transplanting being a personal medical decision, unless one is over 65 and needing a lung or two.
Even if I was not over the cut off age, I still would have chosen not to undergo that procedure. I also, would have prefered being the one that made that decision, not the gov.
Someone has to die in order for the recipient to live. Having said that, I would hope that the family of the donor would be happy that it was Dick Cheney that was the one carrying their loved ones heart.
Yes, he did, for 20 months, nearly two years. asshole
did you totally miss the point of my post completely?
READ and COMPREHEND before you reply
“someone has to die in order for the recipient to live”
This implies that “someone” is intentionally going to kill themselves in, let’s say an auto accident, just so they can donate their organs. There are always going to be accidents, injuries and illness that will kill people, in organ donor cases almost always, a brain death. One can donate their viable organs, giving life, or they can chose not to and let them decompose or be creamated with the rest of their body, which seems like a tremendous waste to me. But, I am partial, my husband gets to spend more years with me, children and grandchildren.......oops gotta go he just got back from the gym and we are going to eat lunch.
Prayers up for Cheney
LOL:.....I like that Graphic.
DITTOS!!!!! May the former VP have a speedy recovery and long life.
Thanks for sharing such personal info.
Amen to your sentiments. I love to see the libs go nuts about Dick Cheney. Prayers for Dick.
Thanks Ernest. Prayers up.
Approx. 15 years ago my brother was critically injured in an auto accident caused by a drunk, 19 year old hispanic kid in Palm Springs, CA. Scott was only 37 years old and in the peak of health.
After a week in a coma, permission was given to have him taken off life support. I forget the exact number but we were told that approx. 37 people were to benefit from his death since none of his organs were injured from the crash..........My only wish is that the recipients could have known what a wonderful kid he was.

Thank you.
Prayers to the Cheney family.
I didn’t read all the posts in between, so this might have been mentioned already...But the only thing I heard today was some blither on the “news” about “was he too old?”
So, you called that one completely.
Since the Communist government will consider us worthless, useless, and “units” at age 70 and over, it’s good he did this operation now instead of trying after 2014.
God bless Scott, and your family for having made that gut-wrenching decision to help others, while your own pain was so great. I am sure there are numerous people, the recipients and their families, who pray for Scott every day. I guarantee I would.
Just one (until Saturday). But nine lives like a cat!
