No, it doesn’t, but the “black culture” is very strong, and pulls black boys to act with a gangsta mentality. That culture isn’t nearly so pervasive with suburban white kids. And the author is cautioning his son not to get caught up in it. Why is that a bad thing?

If the dad says “don’t act like a ghetto thug” - then if he writes as if how his son is treated is based on his skin color.
Writing “don’t act like a thug - or people may treat you like one” is quite different than assuming “you need special black radar” - F that.
They don’t have the balls to tell the truth. Lieing is not leadership.
