As cries for his arrest continue to grow louder, George Zimmerman's father defended him in a one-page letter, saying he isn't a racist but rather of victim of sensationalized media coverage.
The neighborhood watch volunteer, 28, has been in hiding since he shot and killed unarmed Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old on his way back home to his father's house.
His father, Robert Zimmerman, 64, said in a letter to the Orlando Sentinel that his son was Hispanic and grew up in a multiracial family.
“He would be the last to discriminate for any reason whatsoever,” the letter says, according to the newspaper. “The media portrayal of George as a racist could not be further from the truth.”
He defended his son's actions on the day that he got out of his car and shot the teen, despite being strongly discouraged by a 911 dispatcher.

We also know from the released PD statements that:
Trayvon was on a 5 day school suspension at the time of the incident
Trayvon was 6’2” and a football player
That Zimmermans was bleeding from both his face and the back of his head when police arrived.
That Zimmerman was screaming for help
That the police played the recording for Trayvon’s dad who said that the calls for help were NOT from his son
That Zimmerman’s clothing had grass stains on the back consistent with his story that he was knocked down and being beaten by Trayvon
That there are witnesses that reported Trayvon on top of Zimmerman and beating on him.
Notice the priority of what to defend his son from. He doesn't defend him by saying he isn't a murderer he defends him from being 'racist'. Which is obliviously worse than murder.
The political BS surrounding this case is appalling!

but the added benefit is that it reveals much more about ourselves than about the Zimmermans and Martin, since so little is known and there are no eyewitnesses to the altercation, and only Poor George’s self-interested testimony and the recordings of the 911 calls, and the after the fact police report, so don’t bullshit me with your theories as to what transpired. You don’t know, neither do I, and we’ll never know for certain.
First of all there is a witness who has said Martin was atop Zimmerman beating him.
You are either lying, woefully uninformed or a troll.

So Zimmerman gets the benefit of the doubt, because we don’t have all the facts. I agree with you. However, do you apply the same standard to police officers who are involved in shootings?
The 911 dipatcher did not order him to do anything.
I did not hear any such slur as coon, furthermore, muttering under your breath and into a phone that someone is a coon is not a crime.
Not sure what that has to do with anything but I apply facts to cases and let the chips fall where they may.
I used to give Cops more of a benefit of doubt but lately that seems to be getting more and more difficult.
He doesn’t have to defend a charge of murder, because he isn’t a murderer. The homicide was justified.

Did you notice the media's permutations of Zimmerman's ethnicity yesterday.
At the outset, Zimmerman was "white" -- vs the "black" Trayvon Martin.
Around mid-day, it came out that Zimmerman was actually "Hispanic". Thereupon, the news stories began to finesse his ethnicity -- describing him as a "resident of the community and self-appointed neighborhood watch captain".
Then, in early evening, they finally agreed on Zimmerman's "ethnicity" -- he became a "white Hispanic".
After all, we can't have a "racial incident" without a "white" and a "black". Accordingly, Zimmerman became a "white Hispanic"...
The media and the black race baiters are in full cry -- insuring that a proper decision concerning the truth will never be accepted.
The media and our wonderful President Obama are playing with fire here. They seem bent on creating another Rodney King style race riot.
ABC News reported that the Rev. Al Sharpton was speaking to the crowd in Sanford, without bothering to report that he once tried to incite a crowd in the Tawana Brawley hoax case, in which he was shown to be foolishly on the wrong side of the truth. This one event should have marginalized Rev. Al, yet he pontificates and incites like nothing happened. Had someone on the right have committed a much lesser sin, they would have been marginalizaed forever.
If riots are generated from this, people may die and millions of dollars may be lost!
My adopted nephew is Hispanic, but his employer was told he could list him as Hispanic since his name wasn't Hispanic.
His mother is Peruvian. His dad is white, former military, but never heard he was Jewish. Still your point is a good one.

This should not be complex, or mysterious and the final investigation regarding the event should be rather quick.
All the players are accounted for, and there were said to be witnesses, there is audio, cells involved w/records etc.
