No, I don't, but for God's sake, did he have to kill the attacker (assuming that Martin attacked him)? Was Zimmerman's life in danger? A warning shot would have been sufficient.
A warning shot is a valid point, but only if the person is away from you, and that’s assuming he was brandishing. In a close up struggle where you are getting pounded, squeezing off a warning shot after barely being able to get your weapon might end up being a fatal shot anyway.

People are killed all the time from blows to the head. If ya jump on a cop, and start beating him, chances are excellent, you'll get shot. Many other non-cop citizens have also shot attackers, while being attacked. This has happened thousands of times.
