Why has there been thousands of articles a day, for the last four days, about one single shooting?

Because this unfortunate incident presents several golden opportunities for exploitation by a particular political ideology. So, it is being kept out there and on fire, until their hopes and dreams are fulfilled, that some evidence, any evidence, or even something that can be twisted to look like evidence, that this was not justified self defense.

And then the political salvos will be unleashed, in the war against the second amendment.
