Mohammed Atta flew to Prague and met with security agents of Saddam Hussein there. That was the connection that led Bush to invade Iraq and depose Saddam Hussein. And it gave the lie to the liberals who argued that there was no connection between Iraq and 9/11.
Bush foolishly kept Clinton’s CIA director George Tenet in the job, and as I recall, Tenet told the press that there was no such meeting and that Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. Bush did finally get rid of Tenet, but one of his biggest weaknesses was his failure to broom out the clintonoids in the CIA, the FBI, and everywhere else in his administration.
