Mitt Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom on Wednesday dismissed concern that the nastiness of the GOP primary race could negatively affect the fight to replace President Obama.
"It's almost like an Etch A Sketch you shake it all up and start over again," he told CNN of the general election. He said the Republican Party would rally around the eventual nominee.

The country is in a state of flux. Northern liberals are fleeing south in fear of the mess they created and illegals are continuing to flow across the border.
There’s a red/blue flip coming to America.
The midwest is a good indicator of that. (outside of Illinois) Michigan was a tie before the table tilted in favor of Romney, Santorum took the “beauty contest” in Minnesota, and finished down 1 in Ohio. I’m not sure what to make of Wisconsin at this point.
All you need to know about the Romney machine. No core values.
I'm sorry, folks, but I've got to call satire. Nobody could be that far behind the times.
Well... now that I stop to reconsider my remark, I think I need to revise it. Nobody who's running for anything more noteworthy than town councilman in West Sneeze, California could be that far behind the times.
Before November, Mitt Romney is going to end up in more positions than a NYC hooker during Fleet Week. ugh— DanRiehl (@DanRiehl) March 21, 2012
That’s clear enough.
No CORE values.
Much as I hate to say this, cripplecreek, I think we are out of time.
We have let the enemy plot, plan, organize, and gather for decades. This may well be checkmate, and we may well be snookered.
I’ve made mistakes in my life, some of them being grand, but I have never plotted Evil to the degree that is happening now. I pray that my sins will be forgiven.
God help us all :(
Listen, as much as I hate this pandering fool Romney, I’d rather have him than communist America, which is exactly what we are going to have.
If we end up with communist America under Romney, then at least I can say I tried up until the very end.
I can’t stand him either, and I do not and cannot trust him, nor will I rally to him.
If I am forced to vote for him, then I will, because I believe in no uncertain terms that the person in the white house is Lucifer himself.
A friend who grew up in the Soviet Union put it all in perspective for me.
She said that no matter how bad things get, they can’t take the spark of freedom from the hearts of individuals and they can’t take your soul.
Listen, I voted for Newt here in Florida, but the fact of the matter is his candidacy has failed for whatever reason.
He is not going to be the nominee, and that is all there is to it. There is no point in wasting time wishing for something that ain’t going to happen.
Romney is going to be our candidate, we either elect him, or we choose to willingly allow America to fall into the hands of bastards.
Choose.
At the very least we can extend this nomination process out as long as possible and make the party suffer as much as we can for backing this guy. If Romney's inevitable, then it can't hurt him if everyone votes for someone else.
I wont vote for Romney. He will pick up Zeros play book and continue right where he left off...except this time it will be under a GOP banner.
Do you think the GOP losers who are running away from the Fast&Furious scandal are going to hold his feet to the fire? Maybe the GOP leaders who gave us the wonderful debt ceiling compromise?
If you dont think this class of losers arent going to gobble up every piece of gun grabbing socialist healthcare drivel that Romney spits out, you are badly mistaken. He will appoint liberal judges just like he did in Mass....and the GOP leadership will embrace them.
Our only hope is the fact that Zero is in a different party. The partisan politics will make it at least tougher to pass things and approve judges.
This is PRECISELY the case, and why the tired-old "Unless you vote for our hand-picked RINO, you'll re-elect [fill in the blank Democrat boogey man]" argument won't work any more. With loser Romney in the White House, the GOP won't be inclined to fight against his Obama-lite administration; certainly not the RINOs; they'll love it!
Sorry GOP Establishment! Like the Liberals you are, you've overreached with Romney. We're not gonna dance to your tune anymore.
Oh noes! It's the boogeyman argument! How can we resist?
Sorry, dude. The RINOs pull out that BS every time they shove a loser in our face. Won't work anymore.
Psst! Wanna hear a secret? Republicans (conservatives, not you RINOs) will do better fighting Obama rather than an Obama-lite who comes from their party.
In case you're from Rio Linda, let me spell it out for you: Republicans in the House and Senate will be less inclined to dismantle what's happened in the last 4 years with Romney in the White House, because HE won't be inclined to dismantle it. Need evidence? Look at what Governor Romney did in Massachusetts.
Trying to hurt the GOP and by extension its nominee is nothing more than slitting our own wrists.
Seriously, while I am disgusted as anyone else with Mitt R0mney and the useless GOP, WE ARE OUT OF TIME in AMERICA.
We are sealing our own fate.
Okay COBOL2Java you can throw the tough talk around and call me a RINO or whatever you wish if it trips your trigger (actually I’m a Newt supporter) but let me ask you a simple, yes simple, question: if Romney turns out to be the Republican nominee will you vote for Obama? How about another question: if you vote for Romney over Obama then are YOU a RINO? All I’m saying is that while we may not be excited about Romney as our candidate he is better than Obama.
