If someone wants to live where there is a mandatory HOA, they need to read the fine print.

I prefer to do as I choose, so I’ll continue to live in the woods forever, even if it is in a tent under a tree.

Agreed.

We wander on our 25 NH acres without interference from anyone. Although we do get some weird, or perhaps scared, looks from non resident passerbys while practicing with the rifles in the summer.

No way this side of hell I’d pay the owned house cost for what amounts to a rental apartment.
