That’s ridiculous. If you want to hate Mexico, fine; don’t let reality interfere with your vision. But most of the country is perfectly all right and you’re safer on the street there than in many American cities.
Unfortunately, Mexico is poorer than it should be because it’s basically a socialist country, which is its major structural problem.
The reason Obama is being secretive about this is not because of security, it’s because he doesn’t want to attract attention to the huge costs he and his family have incurred for their vacations.

That certainly would have been a better idea, but you never know what he has planned. In 2008, he used the “they’ll say I don’t look like all the other U.S. presidents.” Maybe this is a hint of what’s to come ... “look they hate me so much they attack my innocent children on vacation.” He has no record on which to run, sympathy is about all he can muster.

Here's why I disagree: Obama loves to stick it in our face and tell us to smell. He loves it. He loves tossing the finger at people, literally. There's not a tiny bit of shame or embarassment; in fact, he'd LOVE you to actually SEE how opulantly and lavishly he lives.
So, since that reason doesn't fit with his psyche (psycho?) profile, we are left with the more reasonable explanation of security.
Even safe places in Mexico can go DEFCON 4 RIGHT QUICK.

Her parents allowed her to go and it is they who put her in this position. IMO it is beyond presumptuous for BO and MO to think that our tax dollars should be used to fly their thirteen-year-old to Mexico, particularly considering the state of affairs in that country. Yes the SS is responsible for keeping her safe but this venue just pushes the entitlement envelope way too far.
Well, that’s true, he does love flaunting it. But this being an election year and all, I think he wants to go back to his non-existent roots as born into a poor black family...just like Steve Martin. So I think he’s trying to downplay it for the moment.
That said, why are these girls invisible? No other president has had invisible children. Are they maybe wearing burkas or so ugly that not even Laz would...well, you know...
I wouldn’t send my child to Mexico for spring break. Actually, I took mine to AZ to watch the Texas Rangers at spring training.
Nevertheless, I can’t blame the Secret Service for wanting the details of her current situation removed from the Internet. They have a job to do.
Somehow I don’t see Sarah Palin allowing such a thing, but if she did, it’d be her business not mine and I’d want the SS to do their job of ensuring the safety of her children.
