This is a disaster. Either Newt get out or endorse Rick in Illinois. We are going to be stuck with Romney if Newt does not stop his nonsense. This is crazy. Santorum would be in first place had Newt not stolen votes from Rick in Ohio, Michigan and now it looks like Illinois. Do the right thing Newt. I still think Newt should run for Governor of Georgia. This would be his first time running in a state election and might just be a success. He is wasting his time running for President. I know the money is good for him but I would imagine a Governor’s salary would not be too bad.

The PPP polling showed Gingrich ahead in MS and AL and we all saw how that went. Santorum wins the late deciders. Yes, Gingrich continues to be a spoiler and the margins of defeat/victory in IL will tell the real story. Gingrich is in this race simply to stay relevant in the news cycle. After his massive defeat in FL, he hasn’t recovered. His “southern strategy” went up in smoke and now his fans with their heads buried in the sand (make that in concrete) are doing their utmost to prop him up by constructing a a Potemkin village all around him.

IF Mitt Romney had spent as much money on smear attacks against Santorum as he did Newt; Santorum would be polling in single digits.
The GOP E knew that Newt was the real threat. As it stands now...Romney has more delegates than Newt, Santorum and Paul combined.

Oh give me a break. Quit whining. You have obviously swallowed the stupid lie that this is all about Newt and his ego. IT IS NOT!!! He is truly afraid for our country. And he truly believes that Mitt is only a little bit better than Obama and that RICK CANNOT WIN. And that’s the way that most of his supporters feel as well. But you just want us to lay down and play dead?! We are in a fight for our lives here!
This is NOT about the money, this is NOT about ego, this is NOT about power for NEWT. This is about not losing our country. This is about the establishment/ruling class strangling us with their power (and I know that this will tick you off but Rick knows all too well how to be a “team player” with them) This all makes it really, really, really hard to give up the fight.

With no axe to grind, and an objective observer that has both sided with Santorum & Gingrich, Romney will handily take both Santorum and Gingrich to the cleaners tomorrow in the Illinois primary. Gingrich blew his chances long ago, and....Santorum stuck his foot in his mouth in Puerto Rico. You can’t win over folks by mocking their language and culture. Puerto Rico has been in the USA environment since 1898, and....thousands, upon thousands of Puerto Rican men & women have served loyally in the USA armed forces, some of them giving their lives and being wounded defending the USA flag and country. The same goes for legal Mexican-Americans who honor their language & culture, but give 100% loyalty to their country, the USA. Both Mexicans & Puerto Ricans have been an integral part of our nation for many, many years!!!
I am of Italian/German/Jewish background, and I would no more give up Pasta, Pizza, Italian food, German food or corned beef sandwiches & matso Ball soup, then Hispanics would give up their customs, food & language. I have spent much time in Puerto Rico...and I can assure you just about every Puerto Rican speaks near perfect English. And.......that goes ditto, for millions of legal Mexican American, and.....Cuba- American citizens!!! Hey, remember a fellow named Marco Rubio!!!
Gingrichbots & Santorumbots, you better wise up, we are going to need Hispanics big time, come November, just as we will need support from other minority groups. That vote massive vote for Romney in Puerto Rico speaks volumes how conservative minorities are essential to the success of conservative politics in the USA!!! Turning minorities off is just plain dumb politics, IMHO. Just take a gander at American Blacks, they have boxed themselves in with Obama, who could care less about them, other then getting their votes!!! When Obama loses in 2012, American Blacks will be lost at sea for a very long time to come. Not smart politics for the American Black minority. Playing the race card is dead in the water, no matter how many Democrats or racist Black folks play it.
Newt’s people are against Santorum winning. That’s cool, they beleive in Newt, and are loyal to his campaign. And truth be told, Santorum isn’t that great a candidate or likely to be the type of hellraiser we really need to gut the beast, though he is light years ahead of Romney.
On top of that Newt has access to internals which may show his people breaking for Romney, so by staying in maybe he helps Santorum. (Newt may be getting a lot of support from a bloc which want’s an “electable” candidate. If he drops, they may go to Romney, because they think he will do better than Santorum against 0bama.)
All of that is fine so far, but we are coming to a point (if it hasn’t passed already) where Santorum will not be able to win.
At that point, Newt’s people need to vote for Santorum to keep Romney below 1140 delegates, and send this to the convention. We need to make clear that at that point, a vote for Santorum becomes a vote for “Neither Santorum or Romney.”
Our nation has one last hope in this election cycle. If we send it to the convention, we have a chance at the delegates selecting a highly electable Conservative of some sort.
I think God has shown us that when our nation hangs in the balance, He is not averse to diving in, and gving us the bump we need to make good things happen. We need to give Him a chance here.
Gingrich has said he won’t win outright now. That means if we don’t send it to the convention we will have Santorum or Romney.
The problem is we can’t wait too long for Newt’s people (and those unhappy with Romney) to join with the Santorum vote to keep Romney from 1140. There will be a sweet spot when we can act and still have an effect, and it will be passed quickly.
naps I hate to point out that Rick blew big leads in both Michigan and Ohio, and Newt withdrawing from Illinois would mean that Romney would win 51-36.
