How many carriers do we have over there now within ‘shooting distance’? 3?
Consider that there are only 4 carriers at sea right now. The Bush is undergoing sea trials in the North Atlantic. So all of the USN's aerial strike power is on station in the gulf, or headed there.
This is either a huge, expensive show of force, or something big is planned.

Anybody want to bet that that a nice, convenient dust up with Iran will be both a “pally around the President” motif right before the election, give President Obama just a wee smidgen of creditability in terms of ‘protecting’ Israel *and* serve as justification/excuse for high gas prices?
I am sorry to write this...but just simply drop a nuke or two over their command cities and be done with it!
