Even people who don't care a whit about Maher are now watching him closely to see if he'll wonder off into the pornographic weeds again. Of course he will even if he is a bit intimidated now.

He just can't help himself; it's who he is.

I think Limbaugh is a genius. I wouldn’t be surprised if he made his remarks about Fluke on purpose knowing what the predictable response of the left would be. Outrage, calls for boycotts, amounting to tons of free publicity from the liberals in the press. What the press idiots don’t realize is that they are not just preaching to the choir that hates Limbaugh. They are also stirring up curiosity in people who have been previously unaffiliated with either side politically. Their curiosity leads them to tune in Limbaugh to see what outrageous thing he’s going to say next. He then reports on all the outrageous things said by Maher and others liberals. In addition it’s a fact that Rush is very persuasive and very effective at dispelling liberal misconceptions and installing conservative ideas. That’s why he’s respectful to the liberals that call his show. He knows it’s a process and if they’re listening he’s got them. Rush has a ton of new listeners today who will be the conservatives of tomorrow thanks to the press idiots that took his bait. I myself started listening to Rush out of curiosity when Clinton blamed him for the OK city bombing. I didn’t know squat back then and now I’m a staunch conservative. Well played, Rush! The liberal media will never learn.
