Postal worker: I have trouble believing that if the postal worker made a mistake, he would not notice his mistake immediately.
I think that he would try to correct his mistake by re-stamping Obama's Selective Service form until the correct "1980" was visible on the form.
So if you could present evidence of other postal workers making the same mistake of accidentally leaving off the first two numbers, then I might believe that the postal worker who stamped Obama's Selective Service form made the same mistake and didn't try to correct his mistake by re-stamping the form.
Present or retired postal workers: If you are a present or retired postal worker who used the stamp we are talking about, please give us your opinion on whether or not a postal worker would have allowed such a stamp mistake to stay on the form.
Hey pal, I’m on your side. I don’t doubt it’s probably a fake, I was stating a possibility regarding the stamp.
there is an excellent imo post at another site by an engineer that goes into postal regs and the engineering drawings specifications etc by a poster called al Halbert-scroll down to find it- year line is supposed to be 4 digits.

Note my post#75. I have used the hand date stamp thousands and thousands of times (many times a day for 27 years). The year plug is inserted once a year at close of business Dec.31. There is absolutely no way the first two digits could be missing other than cutting them off. A 2008 plug was likely used and the last two digits were turned around to effect the 80 numbers. Whoever “manipulated” this plug didn’t even bother to replace it in the center. It is placed to the right, making a forgery more evident. This piece of paper was NEVER date stamped by a postal worker!!!
