RUSH: ...Back on January 23rd, there was a lot of panic on the Republican side, 'cause Romney just wasn't wrapping this up.
-snip-
RUSH ARCHIVE: Why is it that a long primary campaign is going to hurt the Republican nominee? If the result of a long campaign is that this party finally figures out that the only way they got to win this is conservatism, it's a win-win. Let it play out! Don't panic!
RUSH: ... Still, the most delegates yesterday were won by Mitt Romney. He added six delegates to his lead. The delegates count today: Romney has 495. Remember, now, 1144 are needed to nominate. Romney has 495 delegates. Santorum moved up to 252. Gingrich at 131. And Ron Paul, the other guy, is at 48. Newt has a strategy.
-snip-
"'I emphasize going to Tampa because one of the things tonight proved is that the elite medias effort to convince the nation that Mitt Romney is inevitable has just collapsed.'"
Now, for whatever reason, Mitt Romney remains in Newt's crosshairs...
-snip-
And a lot of people on the other side of that are looking at Santorum and saying (chuckling), "I can't believe it. One of these two guys is going up against Obama?"
-snip-
Tea Party Americans, other Americans were simply angry and outraged over what was being done to their country, and nothing's changed. And they're going to want to change that. And I maintain to you that that's what this election is going to be about. So Newt (back to him), his objective here is to deny the nomination to Romney at the convention and then throw it wide open.
-snip-
RUSH: By the way, folks, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the product of a brokered convention... Conventions used to always be brokered.

Not to be PC, but I prefer to think of it as a "contested convention." It has a better ring to it. I don't want any "Brokers" wheelin an dealin cause we's broker than we've ever been anyways, right?
I think a brokered convention resulting in a nominee other than the current field would be awesome. For the last year or so the socialists have been constructing dirt on the field currently running. A dark horse would throw them into an absolute frenzy.
You bet'cha!
"Like" from a Volunteer.
With as many winner-take-all primaries as we have coming up, that is an idiotic strategy.
It’s Santorum or Romney, and Romney has a 10-1 advantage.
Of course that was good enough for Nancy Reagan and a hord of infatuated and frightened people in the audience. I can still remember them scraping, bowing and begging him to run and thank goodness he restrained his crap & trade/global warming self!!!
the soul of the republican party then onto getting our country back. Go, Newt. Tell me where to be, I will show up.
We’d see Ron Paul give his votes to Romney.
Rush is on the same page re: Newt’s strategy as we’ve been talking about. Game on.
A LIKE button on FR would mean I don’t have to continue with typing lessons and save me hours waiting for my reply to load...
Do you think Jeb Bush would be awesome? I don’t......and that is about who we’d wind up with.
If we fail the test, I figure we're done. We're as good as done now.
You mean someone who did not fight the hard fight of primaries is going to be nominated in a broken convention? At some point the delusions have to stop with the fans/sycophants of this particular person but apparently it never stop... Pathetic, very pathetic.
Rush gets IT! We should expect no less from him.
Who might that “person” be?
Why does the dark horse have to be a politician. How about Mark Levin? And when he debates Obummer ...”shut up you big dummy.”

FWIW, Rush does not need to be excerpted.
